The Rubens House is Temporarily Closed

Over the coming years, comprehensive and sustainable renovation works at the museum will future-proof Antwerp’s iconic landmark. A brand-new reception, café, research centre and library building, designed by Robbrecht en Daem architecten, is under construction adjacent to Rubens’s historic home, garden and studio. This new entrance is the starting point of a reimagined, accessible visitor route through the renovated museum and the garden. The restored baroque garden will feature plants that would have been familiar to Rubens, in colours that resonate with today’s aesthetic. The renovation will enable old and new to come together. Exactly as Rubens – entrepreneur, innovator and visionary – may well have done it today.
